TRAINING

The Clubs training hours are held predominently in the Midlothian Gymnastics Academy in the Lasswade High School Centre. We also run classes on a Thursday evening in our satellite location in Danerhall Leisure Centre.  Our sessions for competitive Women's and Men's Artistic are held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 5pm to 9pm, Fridays from 1:30pm to 8pm and Sundays from 9am to 5.30pm.

Competitive WA/MA Gymnasts will train between 4 and 26 hours per week according to their age and ability level. Our Development classes commence at age 4/5 years and our youngest gymnasts will generally train for 1 hour twice per week.  We also offer classes for competitive floor & vault gymnasts, which are held mainly on Sunday mornings.  In addition we offer a small number of classes for beginner level and fun and fitness.

COMPETITION ENTRY

When invited by the Club to enter a competition gymnasts parents will be given an entry form which clearly states our entry deadline.  Late responses will not be accepted as we must adhere to the organiser’s closing dates.  A Club leotard needs to be worn when representing the Club at any competitions. We have a club shop which sells our WA/MA competitive competition attire and our Floor and Vault Competitive Leotards are hired out by the Club to our gymnasts for each event.

CLUB FEES

Every gymnast is given an annual fee note for the period from April to March each year to be paid in 12 equal installments. This fee amount is calculated for each gymnast based on the number of hours they train each week and assumes that they train for 48 weeks per year.  No extra charge or rebate is given for anyone training either more or less than the 48 weeks. If a gymnast’s number of hours is changed (either up or down) a new fee note will be issued. All members will also require annual membership to Scottish Gymnastics, which includes appropriate insurance for your child and the club.

PAYMENT OF FEES

Payment of all fees must be made in accordance with the dates and terms stated on the fee notice issued and MUST be paid directly into the Club’s bank account by standing order. By attending the start of a new training month the member undertakes to pay for the whole of that month.  Late payment may result in access to training sessions being denied until payment has been received.  Non payment within any given month will lead us to assume that membership is being terminated.

FUNDRAISING AND SOCIAL EVENTS

Lasswade GC is a charitable organisation which is not for profit.  We make every effort to maintain our fees at an affordable level.  The Club holds a number of fundraising and social events during the year and we would urge all members to support these whenever possible.  We are always looking for volunteers to help with these events.  If you are interested in volunteering please speak to Jillian Givan, Club Manager.
